General Description

A Secunda Vox partbook from a (complete) set of three volumes. Copied by five or six scribes (StaeMI distinguishes six hands, but his Scribe II and Scribe IV may be variant forms of same hand); one hand also appears in RegB B220-2. Perhaps copied in Salzburg; possibly associated with the schoolmaster and composer Johannes Stomius (1502-62).

Original covers of brown/black leather over cardboard, tooled with ornamental designs and voice designations. No index. Copied by five or six scribes (StaeMI distinguishes six hands, but his Scribe II and Scribe IV may be variant forms of same hand); one hand also appears in RegB B220-2. Staff height 15. No initials or decoration. Watermark is Briquet #444 (StaeMI).
