General Description

An Altus partbook from a set of six volumes. Each partbook is composite of several originally separate fascicles later bound together. Possibly copied by Erasmus Zollner, cantor at Gymnasium Poeticum in Regensburg during 1570's. Last piece (in S book only) is later addition by a different hand. Copied in Regensburg, probably for use by choir of Gymnasium Poeticum in local evangelical services.

New pencil foliation, 1-40, in D book (excludes first folio and last 36 folios); no foliation or pagination in other books. Original ink numbering of pieces, 1-4 + 1-20 (last two pieces not numbered). Original covers of parchment over cardboard, with leather ties; paper slip pasted to front cover of D book bears inscription: "I. / Mutetae quaedam de S. Angelis / II. / De die dedicationis Templi / 6 vocum / Nr. 13." No index.

Possibly copied by Erasmus Zollner, cantor at Gymnasium Poeticum in Regensburg during 1570's; see general index for other manuscripts copied by the same scribe.
