General Description

A pair of flyleaves appear as item L in this collection of fragments. The parent MS is an early 13th century codex containing the Summe Ottonis Papiensis de edendo. Both sides of the flyleaves are ruled with staves, but only one side of one folio contains music. One side of the other folio has text underlaid below the staves for the Tr and Mot of a presumably three-part conductus motet with the incipit Fulget ecclesia prelatis. The work that has been preserved in a fair state of completeness is a composition of the same type, again in separate parts.

RISM Description

RISM B/IV 1: A pair of 14th century parchment flyleaves meas. 215 x 285 mm. but originally of quarto size, or perhaps from a rotulus, appear as item L in this collection of fragments. The two pages were removed in 1935 from ms 327/527 when the ms was rebound. The parent ms is an early 13th century codex containing the Summe Ottonis Papiensis de edendo. Although both sides of the flyleaves are provided with 8 red five-line staves, only one side of one folio contains music. One side of the other folio has text underlaid below the staves for the Tr and Mot of a presumably three-part conductus motet with the incipit Fulget ecclesia prelatis. The work that has been preserved in a fair state of completeness is a composition of the same type, again in separate parts. The notation is Petronian, and flats seem to be rather carefully indicated.
