IIIF manifest
A Bassus partbook from a set of four volumes. Copied by a single scribe, probably the 'g h' whose initials appear on several folios (see DiehlP for a discussion of his possible identity). Probably copied in Bruges. The original owner, named on the title pages, was Zeghere van Male (1504-1601), a Bruges merchant dealing in linens, yarns, and dyes. The manuscript was later moved to Cambrai (inscription in each book: 'Biblioth. S. Sepulch. Cam.').

Two full-page miniatures; initials and margins decorated with fanciful pen and watercolour drawings of nude human figures, animals, and scenes of everyday life. Coat of arms of Zeghere van Male appears in an initial on f. 132' of the Discantus book.
