General Description

An Altus partbook from a set of four volumes. The main scribe may also have copied the second part of FlorC 2495 (Rifkin), though Fenlon/Haar disagree; the instrumental pieces (at the end of the Cantus only) are later additions in a different hand. Copied in Florence. Provenance before their acquisition by the Biblioteca Palatina unknown.

4 paper partbooks (D-i + 46 + i folios, A-i + 44 + i, T-iii + 44 + i, B-ii + 39 + i), 140 x 210. Modern foliation. Original covers of white parchment. No index. The main scribe probably also copied the second part of FlorC 2495 (Rifkin); the instrumental pieces at the end are later additions in a different hand. One watermark resembles Briquet #5919; a similar mark is also found in FlorBN II.I.350. Another watermark resembles Briquet #5926 (also found inFlorBN Magl. 122-5, FlorBN Magl. 125bis, BrusC 27511, BrusC 27731, and RomeV 35-40).
