General Description

A Discantus partbook from a set of six volumes, each of which is composite of several different manuscripts later bound together. Probably copied partly by Simon Lyra, cantor at Church of St. Elizabeth in Breslau (Lyra's name on flyleaf). Copied in Breslau, for use in local evangelical services, probably at Church of St. Elizabeth. Later transferred to Breslau Stadtbibliothek. Missing since World War II; contents and composers known from BohH.

•"Orlandi" attributions applied to several parody Masses may refer only to Lassus motets, chansons, etc. which served as models, but Lassus' authorship of the Masses themselves remains a possibility.
