A collection of tracts on various topics (astronomical computations and mathematical treatises), with music on ff. 98-100, copied in landscape format. The pieces run apparently in reverse order from the rear to the front leaf. The texts are Latin-German mixed and composed in the form of ballads. Probably copied in Osnabrück or Hanover.

RISM Description

RISM B/IV 3: 15. Jh.; 302 Blätter Papier + je ein Vorsatz- und Nachstoßblatt, 210 x 145 mm. Moderne Foliierung von f. 1-302. -Einband: 15. Jh.; mit gepreßtem, braunem Leder überzogene Holzdeckel.

Diese aus der Mitte des 15. Jh. stammende Handschrift (vergleiche f. 275, datiert 1455) wurde in Osnabrück oder Hannover geschrieben. Sie enthält eine Sammlung computistisch-astronomischer und mathematischer Traktate. Musik findet sich nur auf f. 98-100. Diese 3 Blätter sind quer beschrieben. Die Stücke wurden offenbar von hinten nach vorn eingetragen. Je Seite 5 schwarze Fünfliniensysteme mit schwarzer Mensuralnotation des frühen 15. Jh. Die Texte sind lateinisch-deutsch gemischt und in Balladenform vertont.

The MS dates from the middle of the 15th Century (see f. 275, dated 1455) and was probably copied in Osnabrück or Hanover. It contains a collection of astronomical computations and mathematical treatises. Music can be found only on ff. 98-100. These 3 leaves are copied in landscape format. The pieces run apparently in reverse order from the rear to the front leaf. Five black 5-line staves per page with black mensural notation of the early 15th century. The texts are Latin-German mixed and composed in the form of ballads.
