General Description

Copied by Franz Flori, who also wrote MunBS 51. Copied in Munich, for use by the court chapel of Albrecht V, Duke of Bavaria (1528-79). Kept in Hofkapelle library until end of 18th century, then transferred to ducal court library, whose holdings formed foundation of present Bayerische Staatsbibliothek.

Original covers of discolored white leather over boards, stamped with ornamental designs. Original index pasted inside front cover. Copied by Franz Flori, who also wrote MunBS 51 and several other manuscripts not within scope of this catalogue. Staff height 27.5. Some inked calligraphic initials. Watermark is coat of arms of city of Kaufbeuren (generally resembles Briquet #1008ff).
