153 paper folios, 505 x 370. Modem pencil foliation, 1-163, by J. J. Maier ("80-89" omitted; many folios lack numbers, but all included in enumeration). Original numbering of pieces, 1-10. Ff. 19'-20, 31'-32, 54', 69'-70, 95'-96, 111'-112, 132'133, 147'148, and 163' blank except for piece numbers. Original covers of white leather over boards, stamped with ornamental designs. Original index ("Registrum Motettorum") on f. 1 lists all pieces in order of appearance. Copied by two scribes, probably Ludwig Senfl and Lucas Wagenrieder (BenteNW); see general index for other manuscripts copied by the same scribes. Inked calligraphic initials, some colored. No watermark.

1525-30 (BenteNW). Copied in Munich, for use by the court chapel of Wilhelm IV, Duke of Bavaria (1493-1550). Kept in Hofkapelle library until end of 18th century, then transferred to ducal court library, whose holdings formed foundation of present Bayerische Staatsbibliothek.
