General Description

Contains repertory for Holy Week. Scribal concordances with NYorkH 278, 861, and 870 (Charles Manns). The scribe is likely to have been Pedro de Estremera who worked at the monastery between 1587 and 1632. Acquired by the Real Monasterio de la Encarnación at Madrid at an unknown point in history. Transferred to the Monasterio de Montserrat in the 1920s.

Original index on f. 1 lists pieces in order of appearance (one piece listed out of order). Scribal concordances with NYorkH 278, 861, and 870 (Charles Manns). Staff height 24. Large plain inked initials; double-line borders in red ink. No watermarks visible. Repertory for Holy Week.

Early 17th century. Copied at the Escorial (Charles Manns). Once owned by Real Convento de las Señoras de la Encarnaçion in Madrid. Acquired from the Encarnaçion by Benedictine monastery at Montserrat, probably during 1920's.
