General Description

Main corpus apparently a composite of originally separate but related gatherings later bound together. Front flyleaves contain monophonic music;; main corpus and back flyleaf contain polyphony. Main corpus copied by one main scribe; two additional scribes, as follows: (1) ff. 57'-58, 120-131', 156'; (2) ff. 45'-46, 123 (FeldC). Back flyleaf apparently a fragment from slightly earlier, unrelated choirbook copied by a different scribe. Répertorial connections with BerlS 40021 and LeipU 1494. Copied in Silesia or Bohemia (FeldC). Acquired by Musikalisches Institut bei der Universität Breslau (now Wroclaw), probably from Silesian monastery secularized in early 19th century (FeldZ). Later transferred to present location.
