General Description

First 10 folios (Lamentations) form separate, independent fascicle not bound in with remainder of manuscript, copied by a single scribe. Polyphonic litany on verso of front flyleaf is 16th-century addition by different scribe. (Monophonic contents copied by several scribes). Copied in Vicenza (CattSC).

i + 10 + 18 parchment folios, 372-7 x 280. First 10 folios (Lamentations) form separate, independent fascicle not bound in with remainder of manuscript: original ink foliation, 14-23; modern foliation, 1-10. Last 18 folios have remnants of original foliation, and modern foliation, 1-18. Original covers of dark brown leather over wooden boards, with brass corners and bosses; brass/leather clasp. No index. Polyphonic Lamentations copied by a single scribe, in black mensural notation on red staves (staff height 17). Polyphonic litany on verso of front flyleaf is 16th-century addition by different scribe. Monophonie contents copied by several scribes, in square chant notation. Inked Gothic initials in red, blue, and yellow; titles, rubrics, and some text in red or blue ink.
