Original covers of brown leather over wooden boards, with clasps. No index. Large, elaborately decorated initials and miniatures. Square notation on red 4-line staves. Polyphonic pieces, on ff. 257'-258, are later additions in Gothic chant notation and score format.

Of south German origin; copied in a Cistercian monastery, perhaps in Baden. Later belonged to Cistercian convent at Wonnental bei Kenzingen, in south Baden; transferred in 1806 to Grossherzogliche Hofbibliothek (now Badische Landesbibliothek) in Karlsruhe.
