General Description

Sarum Processionale; a later hand added 'Salve festa dies' faburden on f. 155. Copied in England. Later owned by Giovanni Angelo Altemps (d. 1620), of Rome. Given to Pietro Vito Ottoboni (1610-91; Pope Alexander VIII after 1689). Donated by Ottoboni family to Pope Benedict XIV in 1748, and placed in present library.

Rebound in modern covers of brown leather over cardboard, gold tooled with decorative borders; "OTT. 308" on spine. Main corpus in square chant notation, copied by a single scribe. Later hand added "Salve festa dies" faburden on f. 155', in white mensural notation.

14th century? (main corpus); faburden added in late 15th century. Copied in England. Later owned by Giovanni Angelo Altemps (d. 1620), of Rome.
