General Description

A central-Italian Antiphoner (Proprium Sanctorum). Entries were added to f. 1-4, 35-38 ( 'In festo beati Herculani' patron Perugia) and f. 136-138 in the 13th-15th centuries. There are other additions, starting on f. 133r, probably also added in Perugia. The 4 polyphonic pieces are in the inserted or added parts. The MS has been in San Lorenzo, the Cathedral of Perugia since at least 1380. In the 14th century it was probably in Perugia.

RISM B/IV 4: 13./15. Jh.; 138 Blätter Pergament, 430 x 285 mm. Moderne Bleistiftfoliierung auf jeder zehnten Seite. Im Hauptcorpus je Seite 10 Textzeilen mit Neumen auf roter F- und gelber c-Linie; Einschübe und Nachträge: bis zu 9 Vier-, Fünf- oder Sechsliniensysteme mit Quadratnotation, vereinzelt Neumen und schwarze Mensuralnotation - Einband: 15. Jh.(?); Holzdeckel mit Lederrücken.

Diese Handschrift ist ein mittelitalienisches Antiphonar (Proprium Sanctorum) des 13. Jh., das sich spätestens seit 1380 in S. Lorenzo, der Kathedrale Perugias befindet. Im 14. Jh., wahrscheinlich in Perugia, wurden f. 1-4, 35-38 ("In festo beati Herculani": Schutzpatron Perugias) und f. 136-138 mit Eintragungen des 13.-15. Jh. beigefügt. Dazu kommen weitere Nachträge, die ab f. 133r vermutlich in Perugia vorgenommen worden sind. Die 4 mehrstimmige Stücke stehen in den eingeschobenen oder nachgetragenen Teilen der Handschrift und stammen wohl aus dem 14. Jh.

[Translation] 13th/15th century. 138 parchment sheets, 430 x 285 mm. Modern pencil foliation on every tenth page. In the main corpus each page has 10 lines of text with Neumes on red F- and yellow c-lines; insertions and addenda: up to 9 four-, five-or six-line systems with square, isolated Neume and black mensural.notation. Binding: 15 Century (?); wooden leather-backed boards.
