General Description

Copied by eight scribes: (1) ff. l'-24; (2) ff. 24'-25; (3) ff. 26'-30 (Scribe (1) (also wrote ff. 39'-49 of BolSP 51; (4) ff. 31'-55; (5) ff. 56'-148; (6) ff. 148'-154 (Scribe (6) (also wrote most of BolSP 39 and BolSP 51); (7) ff. 154'-155; (8) f. 155'. Copied and used at San Petronio in Bologna. The last two pieces, on ff. 154'-155', are later additions, probably from the end of the 16th century.

Jaquet of Mantua [Jachetto]-2, (Morales)-7, Phinot-12, anon-6

125 paper folios of an original 155, 410 x 290. The manuscript is in poor condition; ff. 73-102 are missing. Ink foliation, 1-155. Modern parchment covers from ca. 1957, when the manuscript was restored in Rome. No index. Black inked calligraphic primary initials. The last two pieces, on ff. 154'-155', are later additions, probably from the end of the 16th century.

Mid-16th century. Copied and used at San Petronio in Bologna.

Composers: Change "Phinot-12" to "Phinot-13"; change "anon-6" to "anon-5."

Physical: Early ink foliation, 1-72 + 103-155 (ff. 73-102 now missing). Copied by eight scribes: (1) ff. l'-24; (2) ff. 24'-25; (3) ff. 26'-30 (also wrote ff. 39'-49 of BolSP 51); (4) ff. 31'-55; (5) ff. 56'-148 (also wrote ff. 37'-39, 41'-42, 48'-49, and 110'-111 of BolSP 49); (6) ff. 148'-154 (also wrote most of BolSP 39 and BolSP 51-2); (7) ff. 154'-155; (8) f. 155'.

Date/provenance: Mid 16th century. Copied in Bologna, for use at Church of San Petronio.
