General Description

Copied by one main scribe, with later additions by two other scribes (ff. 105'-112 and ff. 112'-115, respectively). Copied in Bologna, for use at Church of San Petronio. The motets are arranged by feasts (Easter through Christmas).

116 paper folios, 458 x 365. The paper is badly deteriorated, and many notes and entire sections of staves have fallen out; the manuscript has been restored and rebound, and each page is now covered with transparent protective paper. Original foliation. Modern board covers. Original index, inaccurate (second parts of many motets are listed as separate pieces). First 30 motets are in the hand of one scribe. Black inked calligraphic initials in first half of manuscript, through f. 60. The motets are arranged by feasts (Easter through Christmas).

1552 (date on f. 1). Copied and used at San Petronio in Bologna.
