General Description

The manuscript also contains religious tracts, poetic texts, hymns, sermons, and a treatise on music. Probably copied at a Dominican monastery in central Italy (RISM). In 1489 the manuscript belonged to a Dominican monk, Brother Leonardo da Cortona; it was later owned, successively, by Lorenzo Pucci, Luigi Poirot, and G. Ricci; it was sold to the director of the Biblioteca Magliabechiana in 1813 (RISM).

RISM BIV/4: 15. Jh.; 200 Blätter Papier, vereinzelt Pergament, + 1 Pergament-Vorsatzblatt sowie 4 moderne Vorsatz- und 2 moderne Nachstoßblätter, 120 x 90 mm. Moderne Foliierung von f. 1-200; vereinzelt auch alte Foliierug Je Seite meist 4 Vierliniensysteme mit Quadratnotation (f. 9r und 176v weiße Mensuralnotation auf 5 Linien).— Einband: 16. Jh. (?), restauriert; mit rotem Leder überzogene Holzdeckel, Blindpressung; moderner Rücken.

Diese um 1470/80, vermutlich in einem Dominikanerkloster Mittelitaliens geschriebene Handschrift enthält geistliche Traktate, poetische Texte, Hymnen, Sermones und ab f. 177r einen Tractatus de arte canendi. Sie gehörte 1489 einem Dominikaner Frater Leonardo da Cortona, später Lorenzo Pucci, Luigi Poirot und G. Ricci, welcher sie 1813 dem Direktor der Biblioteca Magliabechiana verkaufte.

[Translation] 15th century, 200 paper leaves, parchment protected, + 1 parchment-page, as well as 4 modern flyleaves and 2 modern endpapers, 120 x 90 mm. Modern foliation of f. 1-200; isolated old foiliation There are mostly four 4-line systems per page with square notation (f. 9r and 176v white mensural on 5 lines). Binding: 16th century (?), Restored, with red leather covered wooden board, blind tooling, modern back.

Originating around 1470/80, probably from a Dominican convent in central Italy. The MS contains spiritual treatises, poetic texts, hymns, and from f. 177r sermons and a Tractatus de arte canendi. It belonged to a Dominican brother in 1489, Leonardo da Cortona, and later Lorenzo Pucci, Luigi Poirot and G. Ricci, who sold it in 1813 to the Director of the Biblioteca Magliabechiana.
