General Description

This manuscript, of Icelandic origin was written between 1655 and+ 1658. It contains numerous spiritual poems (some of O. Jónsson), of which 20 have single melodies and one contains a two-part movement. (See DK-Kar240). The manuscript was purchased in 1888 for the Royal Library, at B. Quaritch (London).

RISM BIV/3: 17. Jh.; 245 Blätter Papier, 194 x 153 mm. Moderne Bleistiftfoliierung von f. 1-245. Je Seite wechselnde Zahl von Vierliniensystemen mit quadratartiger Notation - Einband: Mit Leder überzogene Holzdeckel.

Diese Handschrift isländischer Herkunft wurde zwischen 1655 und 1658 geschrieben. Sie enthält zahlreiche geistliche Gedichte (zum Teil von O. Jónsson), davon 20 mit einstimmigen Melodien und eines mit zweistimmiges Satz (Vergleiche dazu DK-Kar240). Die Handschrift wurde 1888 von der Königlichen Bibliothek bei B. Quaritch (London) gekauft.

Inhalt: f. 1-142 Gedichte, zum Teil mit Melodien; f. 143-228 Psalmtexte; f. 229-245 geistliche Liedtexte.
