General Description

Drama Theophilus, with polyphony on f. 1 and f. 2' in score format. Both the music and non-musical contents were copied by a single scribe. Probably of west central German origin. Acquired by Trier Stadtbibliothek in 1806.

RISM BIV/3: 15. Jh.; 12 Blätter Papier + je 1 Vorsatz- und Nachstoßblatt, 290 x 105 mm. Moderne Folierung von f. 1-12. -Einband: modern (1907); graue Leinen.

Diese aus der Blankenheimer Bibliothek im Jahre 1806 von der Stadtbibliothek Trier erworbene Handschrift des 15. Jh. enthält das von einer einzigen Hand geschriebene Theophilus-Spiel. Zu Beginn finden sich mehrstimmige Sätze in gotischer Choralnotation. Die beiden Stimmen stehen auf fünfmal 2 (f. 1r) beziehungsweise sechsmal 2 (f. 2v) Vierliniensysteme übereinander; die oben notierte Stimme und der Text in roter, die unten stehende Stimme in schwarzer Farbe.
