General Description

Compiled by Heinrich Otter in various places (including in Mettmenstetten-Zurich). It belonged to the collections of the Benedictine monastery of St. Blasius in the Black Forest, but was not written there. Besides prayers, stories and descriptions it contains some music: f. 1-3, f. 313-317 sequences; f. 311/312 German songs, f. 318r/v (see inventory), and also a troped Gloria, and on , f. 320v a hymn.

RISM BIV/3: 15. Jh.; 321 Blätter Papier, 212 x 140 mm. Moderne Foliierung von f. 1-321. - Einband: 15. Jh. (?); mit Leder überzogene Holzdeckel.

Diese Sammelhandschrift wurde in den Vierzigerjahren des 15. Jh. von Heinrich Otter an verschiedenen Orten (unter anderem in Mettmenstetten-Zürich) zusammengestellt. Sie gehörte zu den Beständen des Benediktinerklosters St. Blasien im Schwarzwald, wurde aber nicht dort geschrieben. Neben Gebeten, Erzählungen und Beschreibungen enthält sie einiges Musikalisches: f. 1-3 und f. 313-317 Sequenzen; f. 311/312 deutsche Lieder; f. 318r/v siehe Incipitverzeichnis, ferner ein tropiertes Gloria in gotischer Choralnotation (zum Teil mit mensuralen Elementen) und schwarzer Mensuralnotation auf schwarzen Vierliniensystemen (f. 318r: 8 Systeme); f. 320v Hymnus.
