General Description

Polyphony on ff. 363-365. Probably copied at Cistercian monastery in Sedlec (now part of Kutná Hora). Given by monastery's abbot, Valentius a Schönberg, to Gregorius Bartholdus Potanus a Breitenberg, provost of St. Vitus Cathedral, Prague, in 1605.

RISM Description

RISM BIV/3: 15./16. Jh.; 366 Blätter Pergament + 2 Vorsatz- und 4 Nachstoßblätter Papier, 420 x 300 mm. Moderne Foliierung von f. 1-366; originale Foliierung A I-XX und so weiter bis J V (= moderne f. 29-182). 10 rote Vierliniensysteme mit böhmischer Choralnotation und zum Teil schwarzer Mensuralnotation - Einband: spätes 16. Jh.; mit weißem Leder überzogene Holzdeckel, Blindpressung.

Diese Handschrift ist ein Graduale, das der Abt von Sedlie, Valentius a Schönberg, im Jahre 1605 dem Praepositus der Prager Metropolitankirche, Gregorius Bartholdus Potanus a Breitenberg, geschenkt hat. Sie stammt aus dem späten 15. oder frühen 16. Jh. Sie enthält nur ein mehrstimmiges Stück.

Inhalt: f. 1-1v Svatý Václave, Sequenz, Introitus; f. 2-26v Kyriale ; f. 27-366v Graduale (lat.), mit zahlreichen Sequenzen (f. 222-337).
