General Description

Copied by J. Táborský, who is known as a composer and writer of numerous Czech manuscripts. Only three of the four-voice pieces are Christian. The manuscript is dated on f. 1v: 'Erb Města Cžaslawie 1557'.

RISM Description

RISM BIV/3: 16. Jh.; 445 Blätter Pergament, 615 x 410 mm. Moderne Foliierung von f. 1-445; originale Foliierung: a I-a XX, b I-XX..., z I—XI (es fehlen mindestens 6 Blätter). Je Seite bis zu 10 rote Fünfliniensysteme mit böhmischer Choralnotation (zum Teil mit mensuralen Elementen). Reichlich mit Miniaturen geschmückt. — Ein-band: 16. Jh.; mit Pergament überzogene Holzdeckel.

Die auch als Caslauer Graduale bekannte Handschrift ist auf f. 1v datiert: „Erb Města Cžaslawie 1557". Geschrieben wurde sie von J. Táborský, der als Komponist und als Schreiber zahlreicher tschechischer Handschriften bekannt ist. Mehrstimmig sind nur 3 Versschlüsse eines Christe.

Inhalt: Alle Texte sind tschech.; f. 2-54v Kyrie und Gloria, meist tropiert; f. 55/56v Te Deum; f. 57-76v Sanctus, Agnus; f. 77-276v Proprium; f. 277-419v Sequenzen; f. 420-443V Patrem; f. 444 Wappen Táborskýs.

[Translation] 16th century, 445 parchment leaves, 615 x 410 mm. Modern foliation 1-445; original foliation: a I-a XX, b I-XX..., z I-XI (missing at least 6 sheets). Each page has up to 10 red five-line systems with Bohemian chorale notation (partly) with mensural elements. Richly decorated with miniatures. Binding: 16th century, wooden boards covered with parchment.

Also known as the Caslau Graduale, the manuscript is dated on f. 1v: "Erb Města Cžaslawie 1557". It was written by J. Táborský, who is known as a composer and writer of numerous Czech manuscripts. Only three of the four-voice pieces are Christian.

Content: All texts are Czech, f. 2-54v Kyrie and Gloria, usually troped; f. 55/56v Te Deum; f. 57-76v Sanctus, Agnus; f. 77 Proper; 276v, f. 277-419v sequences; f. 420-443v Patrem, f. 444 Táborskýs crest.
