RISM B IV/5:
XVIe s. 63ff. Papier, 147x210 mm. Foliotation ancienne (à laquelle on a ajouté 1 au f. limin. et 1bis au f. 1). Les ff. 1, 61v, 62r-v, 63v sont blancs. Notation mesurée blanche. 4 portées par p. Livre de Quinta pars (ou Tenor 2) seulment.
Ce ms., seul livre qui ait survécu des 5 livres d'un ensemble de motets, a été probablement copié par un scribe néerlandais, à en juger par l'écriture, et aussi par le répertoire, avec 1 motet de Tylman Susato (exemple à peu près unique dans un ms. italien) dans les recueils imprimés duquel on retrouve d'ailleurs quelques-uns des motets de ce ms. 7 concordances (nos. 5, 6, 10, 14, 18, 34, 40) avec le ms. de la Vallicelliana (I-Rv55-60) que l'on a pu dater 1530-31 (Lowinsky) permettent d'attribuer une date assez proche (entre 1532 et 1540) au ms. de Lucca, d'autant plus que le motet de Lupus (n° 2) apparaît dans un imprimé en 1535 (Attaingnant 1535/5) et 2 de ceux d'Arcadelt (nos 14 et 34) en 1538 (Moderne 1538/2), et aussi que le n° 40 aurait été composé pour la visite du Cardinal Ippolito Medici à Venise en octobre 1532 (Dunning, 284f). Le filigrane (balance vénitienne à plateaux ronds), banal dans les Etats de Venise, ne se trouve plus après 1555.
