General Description

A polyphonic Credo has been copied on the last folios, as has a 'Gloria laus'. Given to the Cathedral at Gemona in 1345 by the patriarch Bertrando.

RISM B/IV 4: 14./15. Jh.; 296 Blätter Pergament, 310 x 225 mm. Originale Foliierung von f. I-CCLXXVI, 277-296. Je Seite 8 Vierliniensysteme mit Quadratnotation; f. 295/296: 9 rote Vierliniensysteme mit schwarzer Mensuralnotation - Einband: 19. Jh.; dunkelgrüner Ledereinband.

Dieses Graduale wurde im Jahre 1345 dem Dom von Gemona vom Patriarchen Betrando geschenkt. Die letzten Blätter, wo sich auch das einzige mehrstimmige Stück der Handschrift findet, sind (nach brieflicher Mitteilung von P. Petrobelli) später hinzugefügt worden (frühes 15. Jh. ?).

296 parchment folios, 310 x 255. Original foliation, I-CCLXXVI, 277-296. 19th-century covers of dark green leather. No index. The single polyphonic piece is copied on the last folios, in black mensural notation; the remainder of this Gradual is written in square black chant notation.

14th century. Given to the Cathedral at Gemona in 1345 by the patriarch Bertrando. The polyphonic Credo is a later addition, from perhaps the early 15th century.

Date: 14th century (main corpus). Polyphonic Credo probably added in early 15th century; polyphonic "Gloria laus" probably added in late 15th century.
