RISM Description

RISM B/IV 2: 2 separate but adjacent folios from Oskar Fleischer's scrapbook of over 50 examples of early church music from the 11th to the 16th century. The 2 folios in question measure 298 x 186 and 295 x 208 mm. respectively and date from the mid-14th century. The Ars Nova notation has much in common with I-IV, like the repertoire. There are 11 red five-line staves per page and initials are in red, except for one in green (which was probably originally blue). Both folios have lost most of the top line of notation, while f. 1 is also cut away vertically at the right; this page is in the worst condition, though generally readable. Accidentals are few. Triple bars are used for the finis punctorum.
