General Description

Half-leaf of an English polyphonic manuscript; Leather stains indicate that it was later used as a paste-down. Recto, contratenor (and stems of top stave of presumably a tenor part) of a tripartite Agnus Dei setting, in [O], C, O mensurations. The second invocation has red text and stepwise descending cadences, almost certainly indicating that it is the lower part of a duet section with the missing cantus. Verso, top part of a setting of Te deum (with red ‘T’), recognised by Peter Wright as the setting by Binchois. The leaf is stored among the boxes of text leaves in the library.
