General Description

A pair of flyleaves removed from the parent volume MS. 3.16A (this contains a short chronicle which ends on f. 22 at the year 1264). The book contains prayers, meditations, and other edificatory works in the main. The reference on p. 2 of the main codex shows that OWC belonged to Reading Abbey, and in fact it contains three-part conductus of the type found in another Reading MS: OBo 257. In the 18th century MS 3.16A was owned by Ralph, Earl Verney (1752-1791).

RISM Description

RISM B/IV 1: A pair of parchment flyleaves meas. 213 x 175 ram. and dating from the second half of the 13th century. They have been removed from the parent volume, ms. 3.16A, which contains among other things a short chronicle which ends on f. 22 at the year 1264.
