A collection of chants for the Office, mainly solo chants. Fol. 150 is blank and serves as a flyleaf, like f. 1, but there is also a further blank wormeaten leaf at the end after f. 150, and a leaf glued to the cover preceding f. 1. This page contains Alleluia incipits. There are also 2 small strips of parchment loose in the codex: the one with f. 5 contains antiphon incipits; the two loose strips are not numbered, while others bound in with the MS are, for example f. 91a.. The polyphonic piece is the verse Si lumen sompnum capiat to the responsory In pace(m) in idipsum. The responsory itself is monophonic. The verse on f. 53v is written in score in note-against-note style. The added upper part moves mainly in perfect consonances. The codex was acquired in 1909 from a man named Henrici.

RISM Description
RISM B/IV 2: A 14th-15th century parchment manuscript meas. 295 x 210 mm. and containing 150 folios numbered in modern pencil at t.r.r. Fol. 150 is blank and serves as a flyleaf, like f. 1, but there is also a further blank wormeaten leaf at the end after f. 150 and a leaf glued to the cover preceding f. 1. This page contains Alleluia incipits. Finally there are also 2 small strips of parchment loose in the codex. The one at present with f. 5 contains antiphon incipits. The two loose strips are not numbered, while others bound in with the ms are, for example f. 91a. The codex was acquired as recently as 1909 from a man named Henrici. It has a binding of brown leather over wooden boards, with two clasps and metal strengthening strips as well as circidar metal plates at front and back. The metal plates take the place of studs, and there are five at the front and four at the back (though some metal is missing). Ws 196 is a collection of chants for the Office, mainly solo chants. The notation of Gothic neumes usually employs 11 four- or five-line staves per page. The f-line is usually in red, while the c-line may be scratched in, or be in the same brown colour as the other lines, or later may be in red itself. From f. 136v onwards, there is some difference in the notation, for instance generally 9 staves per page (10 on f. 148-149), while from f. 136v-144v c and f clefs on a yellow c-line and a red f-line may be found. From f. 145-149, plain brown four-line staves are combined with c and f clefs. The polyphonic piece is the verse Si lumen sompnum capiat to the responsory In pace(m) in idipsum. The responsory itself is monophonic. The verse on f. 53v is written in score on two five-line staves in note-against-note style. The added upper part moves mainly in perfect consonances. It is notated in Gothic neumes on a stave of which lines 1, 3 and 5 are brown, line 2 from the bottom red, and line 4 from the bottom merely scratched in the parchment. In the lower plainsong part c and f clefs are inserted at the beginning of lines 2 and 4, which are in red.
