Main contents are the Tractatus summe iudicialis de accidentibus mundi by Johannes de Estemdene, a former member of Merton College, Oxford (f. 1-163). The rest of the present volume is mainly concerned with the calendar, and there is an important computistic section. A flyleaf at the front, referred to as A, bears music: it was once fastened to the front wooden cover and has left a mirror image, which has been photographed in reverse as Ms. Fasc. d. 90, f. 83. The page is upside down in Savile 25, and therefore the MS recto is a verso and vice versa. The original musical manuscript from which this page of motets was detached was longer but very little wider than the present leaf.

RISM Description
RISM B/IV 1: A 14th century parchment manuscript meas. 227 x 168 mm. and containing 204 folios. The main contents are the Tractatus summe iudicialis de accidentibus mundi by Johannes de Estemdene, a former member of Merton College, Oxford (f. 1-163). The modern pencil foliation at t.r.r. does not include the musical fragment at the beginning, which I call f. A. However, there is a 15th century, thick ink foliation at t.r.r. from 162-367, which indicates that this was once part of a larger manuscript. The rest of the present volume is mainly concerned with the calendar, and there is an important computistic section. The binding of white leather over wooden boards appears to be original, though the fawn spine dates from c. 1910 ; a clasp at the front is missing. The 14th century musical flyleaf was once fastened to the front wooden cover and has left a mirror image, which has been photographed in reverse as Ms. Fasc. d. 90, f. 83. The page is in any case upside down in Savile 25, and therefore the ms recto is my verso and vice versa. The original musical manuscript from which this page of motets was detached was longer but very little wider than the present leaf. The English mensural notation includes the semibreve with a descending tail and the semibreve with a tail descending obliquely to the left. There were originally at least 13 red four- or five-line staves per page. This page is badly damaged and is torn away almost to the middle at the bottom right-hand corner.
