General Description

Fragment of the Altus voice part from what was once evidently a polyphonic setting of the offertory Elegerunt apostoli Stephanum. Black void mensural notation on red 4-line staves. Verso of fragment contains blank staves.

This fragment was discovered by Eva Veselovská as part of the Institute of Musicology of the Slovak Academy of Sciences’ Recycled Medieval Musical Fragments of the Augustinian Abbey in Klosterneuburg project and first described by Hana Studeničová (see bibliography). It is published on the Medieval Music Manuscripts from Austrian Monasteries (MMMAM) database (external link to images, above).
