General Description

A collation of the known fragments from Libro 2, re-used in the 1700s as binding reinforcements on other mss in the archive, with the manuscript of Libro 2 as it currently exists.

Libro de polifonia 2 is a book of polyphony for Vespers, copied by Diego Dorta (or d'Orta) under Francisco Guerrero's guidance for the Seville chapter. The fragments are those identiifed by Juan Ruiz Jiménez (see bibliography).

Foliation

Three differing foliations, all on the rectos only:

  • in pencil (top right corner); this is the one used in the inventory of Libro 2 on DIAMM
  • in ink, contemporary roman numerals (right-hand margin, centre); this appears to jump from 49 to 70 (omitting 50-69)
  • in ink (bottom margin, centred)

A PDF concordance for the different foliations can be downloaded here

This virtual inventory uses the original roman foliation, and therefore includes folios no longer extant; note that folio numbers 50-69 are omitted in the foliation.
