A single Tenor partbook, copied by 3 scribes (ff. 1-56; 56v-57; 57v-64). The contents are characteristic of the 1520s, though 2 madrigals by Arcadelt (one of them duplicated) might point to a slightly later date. Many concordances with Bologna Q21. Signs of use including occasional erasures or text and notes. A number of textless pieces may suggest its use for domestic performance, both vocal and instrumental.
Provenance unknown before it belonged to Fausto Torrefranca (bookplate pasted inside front cover). Part of the Torrefranca bequest to the Conservatory.
