General Description

A fourteenth-century French Antiphonary, for Dominican use, in two parts. The first part is the Antiphonary, and the second part is Antiphons for a weekly cycle of feasts dedicated to the Virgin. Note of circa 1800 describing the manuscript in Italian on the recto of the back flyleaf.

On f. 324v is a Benedicamus Domino for three voices, in the style of the Mass of Tournai.

Manuscript was in Italy circa 1800; owned by John Frederick Lewis, Philadelphia; given by his widow, Anne Baker Lewis, to the Free Library of Philadelphia in 1936.
