Unnumbered fragment, second half of 15th century (Binchois and anon); used as binding material in MS 71. Now 'NUK, R, no shelf mark', in Ljulbliana university library.
"On the first page of the sheet (1a) is the end of the tenor and the entire contra of the three-voice Sanctus of the famous Burgundian composer Gilles Binchois (c1400-1460); on the reverse side of the leaf (1b) is the three-voice Agnus Dei of the same composer, whose name is somewhat faded at the top edge of the same page: (Bin)chois. On the first page of the second sheet (2a), the end of the contra voice of an indefinite song, the penultimate part of which begins with the words Paradisi porta, the last part being a doxology: an alternative. longer ending is also provided. This is followed by a three-voice Cibavit eos, but it is probably from several songs: the superius does not belong to the tenor and contra below. It is the upper voice of another piece, and the motif Cibavit eos was probably mistakenly written down in the lower parts. On the reverse side of the second leaf (2b) is the three-voice motet Vere quia misit dominus and a threee-voice song, motet or chanson Helas matres. Apart from these words, this song has no text. With the exception of both Binchois's mass sections, it was not possible to determine the preserved compositions." [Helas matres now considered to read Helas maitres.]
