A Sextus partbook from a set of six volumes. Copied by one main scribe, who laid the books out in 3 sections of 4vv, 5vv and 6vv works; several additional scribes subsequently added pieces on empty pages. Apparently of Netherlandish origin. Owned by Johann Heinrich Herwart (1520-83) of Augsburg. Herwart collection purchased by Wilhelm V, Duke of Bavaria, in 1585; placed in court library at Munich, whose holdings formed foundation of present Bayerische Staatsbibliothek.
