Some pen-trials and other more organised music text on written into the gaps and margins in a printed book of hymns published in Antwerp in 1533 (Hymnorum cum notis opusculum usui insigni ecclesie Sarum subserviens). f. 188 is mostly pen-trials with some isolated lines of music; f. 188v is headed 'thomas butler' in a hand different from the music text. The text on this page is 'Antra deserti, teneris sub annis' ['Antra deserti, teneris sub annis'], a hymn for John the Baptist. A further hand writes on the verso of the title page, also in square black neumes. The text is '[Asper]ges me domine ysopo et mundabor'.
