General Description

single polyphonic addendum to an antiphonary from the Convent of White Nuns (Dominae albae Moguntia). According to the informal note of the art historian Dr. E. Beer (Bern), the antiphonary may have been written around 1350. The polyphonic addendum probably originates from the period around 1400.

RISM B/IV 3: 14./15. Jh.; 265 Blätter Pergament, 405 x 285 mm. Moderne Bleistiftfoliierung von f. 1-265. Je Seite 12 Fünfliniensysteme (rote F- und gelbe c-Linie) mit gotischer Choralnotation - Einband: datiert 1605; mit weißem Leder überzogene Holzdeckel, Blindpressung, Beschläge und Schließen.

Diese Handschrift ist ein Antiphonale aus dem Weissfrauenkloster (dominae albae Moguntiae), das nach freundlicher Mitteilung der Kunsthistorikerin PD Dr. E. Beer (Bern) um 1350 geschrieben worden sein dürfte (nicht um 1250!). Der einzige mehrstimmige Nachtrag stammt wohl aus der Zeit um 1400.
