MS of monastic origin, compilation of mathematical & astronomical texts, with other miscellaneous texts. Final section of 7 bifolios contains Marian music from the Notre Dame school, copied by several scribes. One of the pieces, the hoquetus, may be of Spanish authorship, although the music was probably copied in central-western France (ff. 19-21 is a calendar of festivals celebrated in the region of Limoges & Poitiers).
Pieces are laid out in parts across openings, with page-turns co-ordinated in all voices - suggesting a practical copy for use in singing. Some of the guard pages appear to have vestiges of musical notation, re-used perhaps from an old cantoral. The manuscript was probably assembled in Spain.
