A single leaf from a non-musical manuscript bearing pentrials and perhaps fragments of a piece of music. There is no indication of genre; various words are visible among the repetitive pen-trial notations.
A notation in the margin 'The tune that Alfred played in the Danish Camp' is in a later hand.
There appear to be at least four types of notation: stroke notation; late 15th-century white notation with rounded noteheads and without ligatures; black mensural notation with ligatures; and black chant-type notation
