RISM B/IV 1: A parchment Sarum Antiphonal of c. 1300 meas. 292 x 185 mm. and containing 170 folios. There is no old foliation but a modern pencil one at t.r.r. At each end of the manuscript are 3 blank unnumbered folios. The codex was bought by the British Museum in 1871, and the dark, purplish brown morocco binding dates from this time. On f. 1-8v is an independent part of a commentary on Ecclesiasticus in fine script. The ms proper employs notation of square plainsong type with rhombs for breve-shapes on 17-19 red four-line staves per page. Initials are alternately red-blue and blue-red, except towards the end where they are simply black.
