General Description

A Bassus partbook from a set of 4 or more. Possibly copied by Erasmus Zollner, cantor at Gymnasium Poeticum in Regensburg during 1570s. Copied in Regensburg, probably for use by choir of Gymnasium Poeticum in local evangelical services. Motets are for feast of the Anunciation.

2 paper partbooks of an original 4 or more (DB-10 folios each), 161 x 218. No foliation or pagination. Original ink numbering of pieces, 1-4. Fragmentary original covers of parchment cut from liturgical book. No index. Possibly copied by Erasmus Zollner, cantor at Gymnasium Poeticum in Regensburg during 1570's; see general index for other manuscripts copied by the same scribe. Staff height 13. Red inked Gothic initials; text incipits and headings also in red ink. Watermark is coat of arms of city of Regensburg (resembles Briquet #1140). Motets are for feast of the Anunciation.
