General Description

A Sextus partbook from a set originally of six volumes, each of which is a composite of several originally separate fascicles later bound together. Copied by one main scribe and two additional scribes. Main scribe possibly Erasmus Zollner, cantor at Gymnasium Poeticum in Regensburg during 1570's. Copied in Regensburg, probably for use by choir of Gymnasium Poeticum in local evangelical services.

4 paper partbooks of an original 6 (A-66 folios, B-60, Q-36, S-16), 149 x 215. Each partbook is composite of several originally separate fascicles later bound together. New pencil foliation, 1-60, in B book; no foliation or pagination in other books. Original ink numbering of pieces, [1]-11 + 1-2 + [1]-2 (some pieces unnumbered). Original covers of parchment over cardboard, with leather ties. No index.

Psalms and part of one Magnificat copied in chant notation; another Magnificat in Hufnagel notation; remaining contents in white mensural notation. Copied by one main scribe and two additional scribes.
