General Description

The Decretum of Gratian with glosses by Bartholomeus of Brescia, written in 2 columns. Music is on one folio, in score (this is not quite as long as the other folios). Both pieces are Kyrie Tro.

Brown leather over wooden boards, with 2 clasps. There is a gilt title on the spine and gilt arms on the cover. The modern flyleaves belong to the binding.

RISM Description

RISM B/IV 1: A 14th-15th century parchment manuscript meas. 405 x 278 mm. and containing 268 folios + 1 modern parchment flyleaf at each end belonging to the modern binding of brown leather over wooden boards. Attached to the boards are 2 clasps, and there are a gilt title on the spine and gilt arms on the cover. The foliation is in modern pencil at t.r.r. The main contents are the Decretum of Gratian with glosses by Bartholomeus of Brescia, written in 2 cols, with blue-red initials. There is a 15th century index at the end on smaller pages. The music page dates from the early 14th century and is not quite as long as the other folios. The long-breve notation employs 15 red five-line staves per page in three-part score. Both pieces are Kyrie Tro.
