4 paper partbooks (DATB-iv + 10 + iv folios each), 335x230. Modern foliation. Modern covers. Ornamental initials, marginal decorations; each book has an elaborate wood-cut with the Medici coat of arms at the top. Title in the discantus book, written by a 16th-century hand: "Madrigali di Jh Gero"; according to HaarGM, however, none of the pieces are actually by Gero. A dedication to Cosimo I de' Medici appears in the bassus book.
