General Description

Three fragmentary folios previously bound with one of the other books in the set. The set consists of five layers, copied by several hands; all of the fragments in 16(a) are from layer 3. The first and second layers can be dated to 1608 and 1605 (MurTVB); the fifth and by far the largest layer contains 314 works, the latest of which can be dated to 1646; many of the pieces can also be found in BudOS 1, BudOS 9 or BudOS 17.

The books have been renumbered: former 16a is now 16b; former 16b is now 16c; the 3 folios constituting present 16a were separately numbered following their separation from the other books during restoration. From the Church of St. Aegidi in Bártfa (= Bartfeld = Bardejov). Brought to the National Library in Budapest in 1915.
