General Description

Manuscript annotations (four unidentified melodies, expressed in stroke notation or longs), added to the blank verso of f. CXCVII in a printed copy of Josse Badius, Iuuenalis familiare co[m]mentu[m] cum Antonij Mancinelli viri eruditissimi explanatione. Argumenta satyrarum Iuuenalis per Antonium Mancinellum ([Lyon]: Impressum est hoc op[us] pro fido et bono bibliopola Stephano Gaynardo ... arte et industria Nicolai Vvolf ... ipso Asce[n]siovitio[rum] expu[n]ctore, anno Salutis Christiane 1498 ad decimu[m]quartu[m] K[a]l[endas] Dece[m]b[ris]). View an image of these musical annotations. The word 'hendenlye', followed by an apparently incomplete word, is written above the music, apparently in the same ink as the music notation itself.
