General Description

Apparently the only surviving remnants of an altus or tenor partbook. Copied by a single scribe. Probably of south German origin. Recovered from binding of printed book 4° 1296 in this library.

2 fragmentary paper bifolios, now 123 x 155 and 113 x 155 respectively, recovered from binding of printed book 4° 1296 in this library. Apparently the only surviving remnants of an altus or tenor partbook. Fragments now preserved in modern blue paper folder. Copied by a single scribe. Staff height 13. Small inked calligraphic initials. Watermark: hat?

First half of 16th century? Probably of south German origin.
