General Description

A Bassus partbook from a set of four volumes, each consisting of the print RISM 1544/19, with manuscript addition following print in all but the Tenor partbook. Probably copied by Jacob Hagenbach. Copied in Basel. Originally owned by Jacob Hagenbach (1533-ca. 1566), a Basel goldsmith; owned later by Hagenbach's grandson, Johann Jakob Hagenbach. Probably acquired by present library from latter's estate in 1649.
