Original covers of light brown leather over heavy wooden boards, with blind-tooled floral designs and letter "F" on front; metal corners, bosses, and clasps. Paper slip on spine bears inked number "183." No index. Copied by several scribes. Staff height 25-26. A few inked initials in plain style; title on f. 151' and some text on ff. 151'-157, 167, and 177 in red ink. Tabs mark beginnings of pieces. One watermark throughout (unidentified).

1540 (date on f. 2). Probably of German origin.
